Rooms in My Heart

Welcome to my heart. You are cordially invited to tour three distinguished rooms. On this tour you will get a glimpse of how I feel, think, and survive each and every day.

Here we are in the first room of my heart. Here you will find the most valuable and unique assets, my family. In my family there is David, my husband and my three beautiful children, Houston, Jackson, and Ashlyn.   You will find humor, love, patience, enthusiasm, innocence, and forgiveness as you travel. As you tour I would like for you to notice Houston and his desire to minister to others. Houston often gives up his time to help others in need during school hours or at church. If you look closer you will find Jackson working diligently on every task. He aims to fulfill all expectations placed on him to the best of his potential. He always listens and strives to do his very best, whether in school, church or on the ball field. Another valuable piece in this room is Ashlyn. Ashlyn strives for excellence. She wants to succeed in all she attempts. While watching her, notice her giving heart and her desire to create happiness for others.   The foundation of this beautiful room is the commitment between my husband and me. We are truly a team. He brings laughter, spiritual guidance, and relaxation to this room, while I bring structure, organization, and energy.  I chose to showcase this room because all items on display are extraordinary and could never be replaced. This room is my favorite and naturally where I spend most of my time.

Now, moving on we will go next door to another exciting room. In this room you will find energy, excitement, laughter, noise, conversations, and lots of smiles. Welcome to my classroom, Midway Elementary. When taking your first peek you will see busyness but let’s take a closer look. Look carefully at the details of the children. You will see inquisitiveness, courage, and creativity.   I wanted you to see this room because it serves as a reminder of how we are supposed to live our lives. We should always be curious enough to find answers and courageous enough to take chances when we are unsure or afraid. My role in this room is to lead the children to their full potential but often they teach me how to reach my full potential. Before we leave take a close look and see what the children are trying to teach you.

The last room I am going to show you is an exhibit I cherish. This room is a place of peace, love, comfort, assurance, and guidance. Welcome to God’s room. Here He guides me to cherish others and to always look for Him everyday everywhere. This is the room I visit often. God reminds me that I was not made to be perfect but rather to help others find Him and through my experiences I learn how to help myself and others. Whenever I feel insecure God is always here in my heart to guide me and encourage me. He is the constant voice that says “You can do it. I am with you.” And so, without this room I would be scared, anxious, and my heart would be unbearable.   Please take your time touring this room.

Well as you can see my heart contains three rooms with beautiful and priceless items. I visit each of these rooms daily. All of the rooms allow me to be the best person I can be. I hope through this tour you have learned a little more about me. Please feel free to come and tour anytime. The next time you tour, the rooms will be the same but the priceless items will be even more valuable!
